Dr. Denis T. Iwamoto

Dr. Iwamoto received his Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA. His post-graduate studies in optometry and subsequent doctoral degree were conferred from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1982. Dr Iwamoto also received a coveted "Clinical Excellence Award" for patient care during his fourth-year rotations. He enjoys an active lifestyle including such activities as skiing, mountain biking, backpacking, fishing and scuba diving.

Pauline Parra, Office Administrator

Pauline has worked at this office for more than 12 years. She is extremely well versed in all aspects of billing, accounts receivable and eligibility requirements of insurance providers. Additionally, her keen sense and ability to recall patient's names as well as their family's histories are very conducive to a friendly and comfortable office atmosphere. Pauline has been married to her wonderful husband for more than 43 years. They have two daughters and 5 grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her grandchildren and actively participates in their personal growth and learning with school and sports activities. Other interests include compiling extensive data for a family genealogy project. She has traced roots seven generations dating back to 1853.

Alisha Sanford, Optician

Alisha has an extensive history of optical and management experience in San Diego. She values patient care and satisfaction, which she acheives through her acute attention to detail. Alisha does the frame purchasing and keeps the office stocked with the latest fashion trends of the highest quality to suit your style, prescription and budget. She will happily assist you in maximizing your insurance benefit, fitting and adjusting your eyewear, and can teach you how to safely use and maintain your contact lenses.

Her hobbies include sports(GO CHARGERS!), music, art and cooking. She has a strong belief in supporting local business owners and artists.

Emily Tam, Intern

Emily is currently interning in our office. During her time here, she is learning about optometry and patient care. She is currently in her third year at UCSD and will be graduating next fall with a degree in Human Biology. She will be applying to optometry school for the fall semester of 2010.

Emily is a very avid snowboarder and enjoys spending time in the sun especially at the beach. Most of all, Emily cherishes the time spent with family and friends.

Ashley Chiang, Intern

While Ashley interns at our office, she is finishing up her third year as a human biology major at UCSD. She is striving to continue her studies and apply for optometry school next year. She enjoys spending her free time with family, fellowship and friends. She loves anything to do with the beach like surfing, swimming, volleyball and running. She is very excited to be interning here at Dr. I Vision Care so she can learn more about eyecare in order to be a great future optometrist.
